🔑 Give Yourself Permission

This Sunday,
I feel inspired to
share this particular Wisdom Note with you:

Do you have friends who rush in
when you’re down and out,

but they disappear when you
enter a season of growth?

You’re right:

Some people
are uncomfortable
when you’re living life

differently from them.

Maybe your growth reminds them ⁣⁣
they’ve been stuck. ⁣⁣

Maybe your change
threatens their lack of change

(…and maybe,
you sometimes feel
like this too.)

⁣⁣

Remember this: ⁣⁣

No one knows how hard you’ve worked. ⁣⁣⁣
No one sees your secret tears in the dark.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
No one hears the memories
that sometimes still haunt you. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Only you do. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
If you seek and worry about the fickle ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
approval, validation and opinions of people, ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
you will be disappointed.

Because you living small
for the sake of others
does not make any one else suffer
….but you.

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

So my dear,
the most important ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
approval and validation is ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
after all,
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣your own. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
If you can’t
acknowledge and approve
of yourself,

would any amount of
acknowledgement and approval
from others ⁣ever satisfy you?

⁣⁣⁣

Reflection Prompts:

1) Who do you tend to seek
approval and validation from?

2) If you are free from the need
of other people’s approval and validation,

how would you live life differently
in the remaining year 2022?

Complete this sentence with a list
of as many possibilities
as you can think of:

“I would give myself permission to…..(list)”

You may be surprised
by your answers 🙂

💛
With grace and lightness,
Val
